I am a huge, huge fan of Samsung devices and my current collections are Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. As a fan of Android based devices, I realized that one of the most common issue users usually faced is their devices are not able to connect to their computers or laptops. In another word, can we solve the problem when Samsung devices could not be detected to PC or laptops? This article serve as a guideline for all of you and hopefully you will be able connect your device within five minutes or less after reading this.


Unable to connect Android to laptop or PC?

Method #1
  1. Reboot Samsung devices first and make sure all apps are closed (optional).
  2. Go to Menu and select Settings.
  3. Now head over Wireless and Network and select USB Settings.
  4. Now tick Mass Storage (or check if it is enabled).
  5. You have completed it and you should be able to see your computer or laptop starting to install the device now.
Method #2
  1. Plug in the USB cable.
  2. After a few seconds, you will find a small USB symbol on your device. Click on it where it says USB connected and after that, select Mount.
  3. Wait for a few more seconds and you will find both internal and external SD cards are mounted. This means that you are now able to connect your device to laptop or computer now.
Method #3 (connecting using Kies)
  1. Install Kies to your computer or laptop.
  2. Select Menu and choose Settings option.
  3. From Settings, head over to Wireless and Network and select USB Settings.
  4. Now turned on or click Samsung Kies to enable it.
  5. Connect your PC or laptop to your Samsung device with the USB cable.
  6. Kies will automatically detect your device and you are basically connected!
Method #4 (for those using ICS version)
  1. Reboot Samsung devices first and make sure all apps are closed (optional).
  2. Go to Menu and select Settings.
  3. Check under Device and find for Storage.
  4. Select Storage and on the top right of the screen, tap the 3 single squares icon.
  5. A screen will pop up stating USB computer connection and click on that.
  6. This will lead you to two options which are connect as media device (MTP) or camera (PTP).
  7. If you want to connect to your computer, select connect as media device (MTP).
  8. You have completed it and you should be able to see your computer or laptop starting to install the device now.
